Awe-inspiring is the only way to describe the decor at Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland. Gold leaf, crystal chandeliers, art and antiques adorn this Kansas City live music venue which hosts world known musical headliners, improv comedy and Broadway level theatrical productions.

Ever listen to great jazz in what is rumored to be an 1888 bordello? If not – or if so – the Phoenix Jazz Club in Kansas City should definitely be on your bucket list. This is a super spot for fun nights out. In addition to their regular show schedule, the impromptu jam sessions are guaranteed to wow you – no two are ever the same.

For on-the-mark live music venues, travel to the Gateway to the West – St. Louis.
The Firebird, named one of the “50 Best Music Venues” by St. Louis Magazine, hosts a variety of national as well as up-and-coming local talent. For some good vibes and fun nights out, along with an amazing 360-degree views of the Mississippi River and downtown St. Louis, stop by Three Sixty Rooftop, an indoor/outdoor nightclub at the top of the Hilton at the Ballpark, across the street from Busch Stadium. Frommer’s placed it on the list of "Top Hotel Rooftop Bars Around the World." See why when you enjoy a signature drink, a shared plate and the panorama.

Why not try an out of the way hot spot? Schindler’s Tavern in Benton, off of Route A, 17 miles southwest of Cape Girardeau, fries up a twist from the standard burger favorite: a bologna-topped burgers with a side of fried green beans. The tavern was selected as one of the country’s “51 Great Burger Joints” by USA Today. reviewer Adam A. says: “Coolest bar in the world! All my out of town friends beg me to take them there.”

Clay Cooper Theatre is more than just country music, it is truly one of Branson's top live music venues. Clay and the expansive cast of veteran entertainers give memorable performances, including music and improv comedy. This Branson venue has a rotating line-up of shows with top name stars, plus special events held throughout the year. Before heading to the theater, reserve a spot at Table 22, a restaurant known for its commitment to serving locally raised livestock and locally grown produce – they celebrate you, their patrons, by providing an unforgettable experience. Of reviewers, 86 percent awarded Table 22 a rating of “excellent.”

If improv comedy is your idea of a great night out, head to Springfield and The Skinny Improv for an evening of hip, cutting-edge and lightning-fast sketches where the audience is often (always) involved. For fun nights out, their Friday and Saturday performances promise some side-splitting laughter. The Skinny is located above (but not affiliated with) Nonna’s Italian Restaurant.
