Warm, sunny days provide the perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy a sporting event. Fortunately, in Missouri, we have many events from which to choose.
Celebrate “America's pastime” by cheering on the 2011 World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. From your seat at Busch, catch a glimpse of the downtown St. Louis skyline and the marvelous Gateway Arch.
And be sure to follow the St. Louis Blues hockey team next season, when they return in hot pursuit of Lord Stanley’s Cup. The Blues take on all comers at the Scottrade Center, just six short blocks from Busch Stadium.
On the western side of the state, the Kansas City Royals take on opponents at Kauffman Stadium. Kids love all the fun activities available inside the stadium, including a carousel and a batting challenge. Don't forget to sample some world-famous Kansas City barbecue while you're at the stadium.
In Springfield, watch tomorrow's baseball legends take the field when you root for the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Home games at Hammons Field make for a perfect family outing. Visit on Thursday nights for the “Buck a Brat” special, and Tuesdays for “$1 Dog Days.”
In O'Fallon, the Independent Frontier League's River City Rascals play minor league baseball. Their games at T. R. Hughes Ballpark are fun and affordable for the entire family.
