See the sights and enjoy a drink before or after a ballgame
Author: Stephen Foutes
He may have different tastes and interests, but at his core, the man in your life is pretty simple. Treat him to a baseball game and a cold Missouri brew and he’s content.

Fortunately, Missouri has abundant opportunities to enjoy beer and baseball, especially in its largest cities.

Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield are home to the Royals, Cardinals and AA Cardinals, respectively, along with a bevy of breweries to tempt and please your favorite guy’s palate.

Before the action on the diamond begins, encourage him to explore these cities and the fun attractions that turn a day or night at the ballpark into a memorable outing (or an awesome Father’s Day weekend getaway!).

Stadium tours
– Get an inside look at the ballpark on a tour of either Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City or Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Note that tour times vary, especially on game days, so be sure to check the available tour schedules.

Get your souvenirs and gear
– Buy a keepsake at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and the National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, and grab the latest outdoor apparel and accessories at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Springfield.

Cold beer, here
– Beer and baseball go hand-in-hand, so it makes sense to enjoy a brewery tour before a game. Your guy can’t go wrong with brewery tours at Boulevard Brewing Company in Kansas City, Mother’s Brewing Company (available Saturdays only) in Springfield and Budweiser Brewery in St. Louis.

Rev up the excitement!
– Need to add a little horsepower to this getaway? No problem! Harley-Davidson Factory Tours in Kansas City helps your man channel his inner biker, while the Route 66 Car Museum in Springfield showcases a great lineup of classic and pop-culture-inspired autos and the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis boasts all sorts of conveyances, from cars and boats to trains and planes.

If they don’t win …
Yes, it’s a shame if the home team doesn’t win. It won’t take long to change your man’s mood, though, especially when there’s loads of fun to be had at Ballpark Village in downtown St. Louis, the pubs and restaurants of downtown Springfield and the Power and Light District in Kansas City.

These are just some of the experiences to enjoy in the Show-Me State. Keep exploring
