Freedom to Explore: Interactive Museum Attractions and Midwest Water Parks for the Kids

Freedom is on the agenda in Missouri – freedom to have a good time. Let the Show-Me State show your family what it means to play. Discover your inner child at one of the many venues made for kids of all ages.
Discover your inner child at an interactive museum. Feel like its summertime year-round in the Midwest; after all, water parks don’t have to be outdoors. Missouri delivers plenty of great indoor options.

Travel “down under” at Jumpin' Joey's in Springfield. This Australian-themed indoor bounce-house offers kids the chance to bounce out their energy. Their open jump times allow kids – and adults – a fun experience. Their open jump specials include jump time, pizza and drinks. Also in Springfield, Jump Mania is 8,700 square feet of inflatable fun. Friday nights, Jump Mania transforms into Glow Night, when black lights and music get the weekend started.

Kids Museum Fun in Missouri

For a more relaxing activity, visit the galleries in the St. Louis Art Museum. The 200,000-square-foot East Wing expansion has revolutionized the way art is viewed in St. Louis. Traveling as well as permanent exhibits fill the spaces. Every Friday, the museum is open until 9 p.m. Inside the main museum, order something delicious at Panorama, a restaurant with a dramatic view of Forest Park.

Children need to grow their imagination. The Discovery Playhouse kids museum provides the perfect backdrop for exploration. Located in downtown Cape Girardeau, the Playhouse is open Tuesday through Sunday. Children of all ages can play, discover and explore their way through a variety of interactive exhibits. Find your way through Air-Mazing-Fun. Cruise Pollywog Pond in your boat. Become a dentist and firefighter and experience life in their shoes.
