Winery Weekend Getaways in Missouri

With so many wonderful Missouri wineries, why not turn an afternoon getaway into a weekend mini-vacation? Missouri wine country is great for winery weekend getaways, offering more than just fantastic vino – there are plenty of places to dine, to pamper yourself, and to catch up on some well-deserved rest.

In Washington, Old Vine Riverfront Bistro is a great stop for delicious food, lovely views, and music. Take a seat inside the bistro, in the upstairs wine bar, or outside on the patio. Savor sandwiches, soups, pizzas, and salads, while enjoying the ambiance of the 1850s brick building.

Take the winery tour to Hermann, where there is so much to love, from the wineries to the antique shops to the picturesque town itself. During your visit to this beautiful place, make one of your stops
The Bank Bar at Schiller. A perfect place to relax and refuel, The Bank Bar serves appetizers and pizzas in a gorgeous, restored bank building. Libations include wine and martinis.

Spend the night in Hermann at A Secret Vine Bed and Breakfast. As the name implies, this serene place offers a perfectly tranquil break from the busy world.

Sit with friends in the courtyard and lush garden. Get a great night’s sleep in the guest quarters, each with private entrance and full bathroom. You'll need the rest, as the winery tour continues tomorrow. Breakfast is served in-room.

Treat yourself – and your friends– to an idyllic getaway at Wine Country Gardens, in Defiance. The on-site restaurant and wine-garden provide a full complement of delicious sandwiches, salads, light entrees and decadent desserts (including wine ice cream). Take in the panoramic view of the Missouri River valley as you chat with friends. The landscaping and grounds were featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

Find Time to Relax After All Those Wineries in Missouri

Ready to forget all of your cares? That big presentation at work will feel miles away as you pamper yourself at Halcyon Spa and Salon, located in Augusta. This spa delights visitors with a number of rejuvenating services; enjoy a massage, a facial and a “mani-pedi” while relaxing in the 100-year-old mill building. By appointment only. Winery weekend getaways provide the perfect opportunity to relax.

Spend the night in Augusta at the H. S. Clay House and Guest Cottage Bed and Breakfast. Choose the 1867 cottage or the 1885 Victorian house; both feature luxurious amenities, including a fireplace in every guestroom. Enjoy a warm welcome – complete with homemade chocolate-chip cookies and seasonal drinks. Chat with friends over a glass of wine on the patio; gather around the fire-pit on a cool night; and take your bicycles for a ride on the Katy Trail. It's like the winery tour de-France, but in Missouri. Adults only.

You’ll have sweet dreams when you slumber at
School House Bed and Breakfast, two blocks from the Katy Trail in Rocheport. Featuring 11 guestrooms, this three-story, brick B&B provides plenty of space for a group of friends and couples. Constructed in 1914 as a schoolhouse, the building now welcomes guests looking for a peaceful getaway. Each room has a private bath. A full breakfast is served.

Rest in style and luxury at the
Chateau on the Lake Resort and Spa, on Table Rock Lake, nine miles southwest of Branson. On warm days, rent a boat and see the lake up-close. Pamper yourself with a soothing massage and facial at Spa Chateau, the hotel’s world-class day-spa. At the end of the day, unwind with a delicious meal and a glass of wine at the Chateau Grille.
