The Lake of the Ozarks area is known as a great destination for boating, skiing, swimming and fishing; but those are just some of the activities to enjoy this summer.

Here’s a quick look at five ways to have a great Missouri getaway at the Lake of the Ozarks.

1> Tee It Up - Lake of the Ozarks is one of the top golf destinations in the Midwest. With more than 15 golf courses and an established golf trail boasting courses such as Osage National and Old Kinderhook, the Lake is a must for golf enthusiasts.

2> Enjoy the Shops – Whether you’re looking for name brands at the Osage Beach Premium Outlets or checking out small boutiques, the Lake area has your shopping needs covered.

3> Explore the Outdoors – At Missouri’s largest state park – Lake of the Ozarks State Park – your options for adventure are nearly endless. If you’re up for it (pun intended), scope out the area from above, courtesy of Lake Ozark Helicopters. Check out This Video to learn more.

4> Soak Up the Sun  – You knew you were getting out on the water sometime, right? The Lake of the Ozarks spans some 54,000 acres, has more miles of shoreline (about 1,100 miles) than the Pacific Coast of California and is an ideal place to swim, ski, fish and just relax in the sun. Don’t forget your sunscreen.

5> Savor the Flavors – About half of the Lake area’s 200 restaurants are located directly beside the water or offer a fantastic view of it.  Enjoy a fine dining experience at locations such as JB Hook's and simply relax with a glass of vino at Seven Springs Winery. Save room for dessert, though – Randy’s Frozen Custard is a local favorite.
