Free family-friendly fall event! Come experience the breathtaking beauty of autumn in the Ozark Mountains. This annual event, held the 3rd Sunday in October, features an outdoor church service on the mountain at 10:30 a.m.; delicious food, 11a.m.-2 p.m.; and live musical entertainment and fall activities throughout the day.
Meal choices: a slow-cooked, pulled-pork dinner, $6; brown beans and ham dinner, $4; a hot dog dinner, $3. Beverages are included.
There are vendors and exhibits; pumpkin painting for the kids; a dessert auction; scarecrow making contest; and turkey-calling contest.
Located 20 minutes south of Ava, at the Caney Picnic Area on the Glade Top Trail in the Mark Twain National Forest. From Ava, travel south on Route 5 for about four miles; turn right onto Route A and follow it for about four miles; turn left on County Road 409 (which is marked as the road to follow to reach the Glade Top Trail).
