Happening on Sept. 14, 2019, in Lexington, Missouri is the Spirit of the Civil War-a unique living history event. Spend the day immersed in Lexington's Civil War heritage with skirmishes that recount the march of troops through town, the siege of the historic Anderson House, speeches on the Courthouse steps and open encampments. 

Visitors will gain an experience of a lifetime and a glimpse of the days of the Civil War. Our streets will be filled with troops, political speeches on the steps of the Lafayette County Courthouse, gunshots echoing through the heart of Lexington, and ladies in full period dress. Our preserved main streets and historical districts provide the perfect backdrop.

Spirit of the Civil War begins is an all-day event, free-of-charge, with the march of troops beginning at 10 a.m.
