Shiitake Social

Join us for the last Shiitake Social of the year! In this class, you will learn how to grow mushrooms outdoors on logs, using basic tools with Farm Manager Brendan Sinclair. We will discuss the many uses of mushrooms from culinary to health benefits and discover which varieties of mushrooms are most commonly (and most deliciously) used and why.  Participants will partake in the preparation of logs for growing and harvesting, plugging their own shiitake mushroom spawn. By the end of class, students will take home their very own log that they’ve prepared for cultivating and leave with the confidence to grow mushrooms in their own backyard!  Weather/rain date: March 6, 2022
