Park Day

Join the national movement led by the American Battlefield Trust to preserve Civil War battlefields and historic sites on April 9 at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site. Volunteers will meet at the visitor center and work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in small groups to battle the invasive species threatening the site.

If you would like to learn more about invasive species prior to Park Day, join us on Saturday, April 2, for our Invasive Species Workshop. The workshop will start in the visitor center, focusing on common invasive species found around the site and the community and effective removal methods, and then continue outside for practice identifying invasive species and distinguishing then from beneficial native plant look-a-likes.

For both events, volunteers should dress comfortably to work outside in the elements.
