Our Blue Planet – A Handmade Parade

Join StoneLion Puppet Theatre in a creative new FREE spectacle to raise awareness for our amazing home and the need to protect our water…with puppets and art! Join in to be a part of the parade or make plans to watch the event and attend the party. Handmade parade will feature costumes, masks, street bands, hand pulled floats, StoneLion’s world famous giant puppets and crazy art. The parade will end in a dance party and art festival that will celebrate the only planet we call home.

When: June 4, 2023 2 p.m.

Parade followed by an interactive festival from 230 p.m.- 5p.m.

Where: Historic 18th and Vine District

Parade Route: Woodland and 17th Terrace, Right on 18th Street, Right on Vine to “The Great Yard”/Gregg Klice Community Center for the festival.

Open Studios:

The magic happens in open studio workshops on Sunday afternoons from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Starting March 19 and continuing until May 29, 2023 except Easter Sunday. Our studios are at 2400 East Truman Road KC MO, open to anyone who wants to make costumes, parade art or help create giant puppets.  You can make your own magic at home too and join in the parade! Participation is free, materials are supplied and the workshops are open to all, from families to community groups, workplace groups and creative individuals from ages 1 – 100+.
