Museum After Hours: Missouri Bicentennial Program at Missouri State Museum
Missouri celebrates its 200th birthday on Aug. 10, 2021. The State Historical Society of Missouri is committed to coordinating a year-long, statewide celebration that brings together rural and urban communities in projects, programs and events that contribute to a better understanding of the state and its complex heritage. Join Michael Sweeney, Ph.D., as he discusses what plans are in place and how you can join in the commemoration of Missouri's statehood. The program will be held in the Missouri State Museum's History Hall, located in the east wing of the Missouri State Capitol. After-hours access to the Capitol (after 5:30 p.m.) is through the garage on the east side of the building. The program continues the museum's ongoing series, "Museum After Hours," held the first Wednesday of each month. In addition to the program, the museum's galleries will be open until 9 p.m.
