Museum After Hours: In Search of the 62nd U.S. Colored Infantry Program at Missouri State Museum
Aug
01

The men of the 62nd and 65th U.S. Colored Infantry founded Lincoln University just after the Civil War. Michelle Brooks, local historian and newspaper editor, will present her research on the 62nd. Her work gives names and faces to the individuals who formed the unit and founded the school. The program will be held in the Missouri State Museum's History Hall, located in the east wing of the Missouri State Capitol. After-hours access to the Capitol (after 5:30 p.m.) is through the garage on the east side of the building. The program continues the museum's ongoing series, "Museum After Hours," held the first Wednesday of each month. In addition to the program, the museum's galleries will be open until 9 p.m.
