The Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival is the University of Missouri Center for Agroforestry’s signature annual field event at the MU Horticulture & Agroforestry Research Farm in New Franklin. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about agroforestry through tours of on-farm research plots & demonstration areas, presentations from local producers & researchers, and interactions with specialty perennial crop vendors, conservation & forestry organizations, and other educational booths. The historic 1819 Thomas Hickman House will be open for tours. Attendees will have the chance to purchase local food, artisan products from local vendors, and native plants & trees. The event is free and open to the public, rain or shine.
