Invasive Species Workshop

See Photo Location

Do you have pesky vines climbing up your trees, overwhelming and slowly killing them? Do you have bushes and other plants that take over your yard and garden spaces? Then you might be battling invasive species! Join us at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, for a workshop focused on identifying common invasive species around Lexington and how to effectively battle them. The workshop will begin in the visitor center and then later move outside to allow us to practice identifying invasive species and distinguishing them from the beneficial native plants they are often confused with. Please dress appropriately for working outside in the elements and hiking the grounds.

If you want to continue the battle against invasive species around Lexington, consider joining us on Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m. for our annual Park Day. Park Day is sponsored each year by the National Battlefield Trust, an organization that connects volunteers with their local battlefields in a work day to help preserve battlefields across the United States. This year, our efforts will be focused on battling the invasive species that threaten the site.
