Country gospel music returns to the stage of the West Plains Civic Center Thursday through Saturday. The International Country Gospel Music Association, the oldest music organization of its kind, presents its 64th annual Convention and Awards Show.
The free event draws capacity crowds to the civic center every year and will be celebrating its 11th consecutive year of holding the convention in West Plains. The 2020 ICGMA will feature some of the top-name country gospel singers and songwriters in the nation performing on stage for three days and nights.
The event consists of live music all day, each day, with singing by artists, musicians and groups from all across America and several foreign countries. The music is country gospel, bluegrass gospel and southern gospel.
Performances begin at 10 a.m. Thursday morning and continue through Saturday evening. Daytime Showcase performances are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evening concerts are at 6 p.m.
The highlight of the celebration will be the 64th annual Gold Cross Awards Show and concert, when awards will be presented to artists in 28 categories to recognize excellence in music and performance, as well as inductions into the prestigious ICGMA Hall Of Fame.
