History on Elm series continues March 14, featuring A.J. Medlock, coordinator of the St. Louis Research Center, who will present a brief history of science fiction fandom in Missouri. Attendees will learn about the evolution of this unique Missouri sub-culture, chronicling the formation of the Ozark Science Fiction Association in St. Louis to the Archon, one of the longest-running science fiction and fantasy conventions in Missouri. Featured collections include the Walt Stumper Papers, the USS Discovery Records and the Amy Newell Verseman Papers.

History on Elm series celebrates the 125th anniversary of the founding of the State Historical Society in 1898 by exploring a variety of topics the second Tuesday of each month at noon at the Center for Missouri Studies in Columbia. The public is invited to attend. Registration is not required.
