Past Event

Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site will host a guided First Day Hike on Paved Bicycle Lake Trail on New Year’s Day. The hike will be 3.75 miles in length and should take about two hours to complete. The paved trail is considered easy and encircles the 100-acre Williams Creek Lake with a moderate grade. In winter, geese, and occasionally bald eagles, can be seen on or above the lake.

Participants should meet at the east dam parking lot, located near the campground, and bring water and snacks.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the park office 816-580-3387.
