Past Event

Come celebrate a new year in nature! As part of America’s State Parks First Day Hikes initiative, park staff will lead a 3-mile hike on Eagle’s Nest Trail at Roaring River State Park.

Join us as we enjoy a stroll along the river before hiking up to the limestone bench bluff. At the midpoint of this hike, we will work up a steep hill before returning to the trailhead via the gravel road. Hikers can expect to see a small cave, a spring and excellent views of Roaring River. They should also expect steep and muddy sections of trail. Participants are encouraged to wear waterproof boots, dress for the weather, and bring water and snacks. The trailhead is located behind Campsite 94, at the end of Campground 2.

This hike is free and open to the public. Due to the rugged nature of Eagle’s Nest Trail, the hike is best for individuals 10 years or older.
