Family-friendly fall festival with lots of free activities for kids and adults, including games, live music, pumpkin and costume contests, art displays and storytelling “History of the West Plains Square” at 2 and 3 p.m. Bring chairs to enjoy the music and storytelling. Vendors, food trucks, a local brewery, and specialty shops will offer items to purchase.
Within walking distance during the festival are art shows at the Yellow House, 209 W. Trish Knight St.; on the mezzanine at the Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St.; and the Harlin Museum, 405 Worcester Ave., (open noon-4 p.m.).
Also in the downtown area, later in the evening, is the community theater play, “The Beverly Hillbillies,” starting at 7 p.m. at the Avenue Theatre, 307 Washington Avenue. At 8 p.m. Luke Owen is in concert with Travis Denning and Makenzie Carpenter at the West Plains Civic Center.
