In this special concert event, vocalist Candice Ivory performs the songs of the iconic blues artist Memphis Minnie. The concert also commemorates the release of Ivory’s new album When the Levee Breaks: The Music of Memphis Minnie, recorded to mark the 50th anniversary of Minnie’s passing. At the National Blues Museum, Ivory will be joined by world-renowned guitarist William Lee Ellis, a longtime creative partner of the Piedmont bluesman and sacred musician Rev. Gary Davis. Join us to celebrate Memphis Minnie’s undeniable blues legacy as well as the National Blues Museum debut of Candice Ivory, the Queen of Avant Soul.
