Join us at the beautiful Powell Gardens, Kansas City's botanical garden, for a festival featuring Missouri-made products you can buy straight from the artists, artisans, and producers. Stroll in the gardens and delight in the beautiful floral displays while shopping some of the most unique Missouri-made products around.
This year we will have close to 100 booths with even more variety to peruse than last year. There will be handmade crafts made from glass, iron, wood, and pottery. You can sample wine from several different wineries, or bourbon or whiskey from distilleries. Don't forget about the food samples. Try some bacon snack sticks, granola, or fruit spread. There will even be some grilled meat to sample.
Browse through an abundance of clothing choices, which includes jackets, scarves, kimonos, and purses to name a few. Furniture and rugs will be available for purchase. Whatever you are looking for you will find it at this event!
Love art? We will have it all...from acrylic, oil, and even water based paintings. There will also be photographs of beautiful scenery as well as Missouri wildlife. If you are looking for a gift for someone special, why not some hand-made jewelry.
There will be plenty of entertainment to keep anyone happy. Along with live music in the afternoons there will be reenactors performing both days interacting with visitors. Some of our characters include Mark Twain, Daniel Boone, Lila (stories of a Missouri slave), Lt. Patrick Miner-the African American commander of the Battle of Westport, Molly Brown, and Alexander Majors who will tell of tales of traveling on the Santa Fe Trails.
Children can take part in special education programs offered by Powell Gardens. Authors will also be on hand to tell of tales to children and adults alike. You will enjoy the stories so much you may want to purchase one of their books to take home with you.
