The annual MOPACA Invitational Alpaca Show features more than 400 alpacas from across the country. The show includes alpaca competitions, a walking fleece competition, fiber arts demonstrations, and many vendors of products made from alpaca fiber.
Visitors will learn about alpacas, alpaca fiber and raising alpacas. Artisans will demonstrate spinning with alpaca fiber, weaving and other fiber arts. Alpaca farmers will be available to introduce visitors to their alpacas. A wide variety of vendors will be selling yarn, clothing and other products made from alpaca.
Alpacas 101 workshops for visitors will provide basic information about alpacas: Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Sunday at 10 a.m.
This is an excellent event for people of all ages, including families with young children.
The Alpaca Show is held at the American Royal Hale Arena, 1701 American Royal Ct., in Kansas City. There is no charge for parking or admission.
