15th Annual Ozarks Studies Symposium

The 15th annual Missouri State University-West Plains Ozarks Studies Symposium will be held at the West Plains Civic Center on September 22-24. The theme of the 2022 symposium is “Cultural Encounters in the Ozarks.”
A wide range of informative, thought-provoking and entertaining topics will be covered by presenters who are experts in their respective fields of studies. Dr. Blake Perkins is the keynote speaker, with his talk titled “Hillbilly Hellraisers: A Closer Look at Rural Ozarkers’ Damn-Government Defiance in History.”
Opening reception on Thursday, September 22, with presentations throughout the day on Friday and Saturday. Attend as many or as few sessions as you wish. Admission is free. Preregistration is not required. See schedule and get more information at ozarksymposium.wp.missouristate.edu.
