I don't think there is anything more beautiful than Missouri in spring, as she shows off every color of the rainbow and every shade in between. There's even a special day dedicated to such delight. National Public Gardens Day is May 12 and Missouri's botanical gardens are bursting into bloom with special events for that day - and the glorious spring to follow:
If a quiet ramble through a beautiful garden is more your style than an organized event, don't miss the natural splendor of the Carnahan Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City, The Comanche Acres Iris and Water Gardens in Gower, The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden in Kansas City, and the Shelter Insurance Gardens in Columbia (their Sunday evening concerts in June and July are a don't-miss).
Many writers have waxed poetic describing spring and flowers. But Robin Williams said it best: "Spring is nature's way of saying 'Let's party!'" Robin Williams was a genius.
Come party with us and enjoy the spectacle!
