Spring Festivals and Events in Missouri

March 25, 2019

Communities across Missouri are ready to shake off winter's chill and welcome spring with a variety of festivals and events. From art and architecture to Churchill and Twain, there's something sure to appeal to everyone.

Meet dozens of artisans, craftsmen, brewers and distillers at the Best of Missouri Life Market Fair April 27-28 at Powell Gardens in Kingsville. The festival, a collaboration with Missouri Life magazine, will feature paintings, photography, sculpture, clothing, home décor, beer, wine and spirits – surrounded by thousands of daffodils and other spring blooms at the botanical garden, located 30 miles southeast of Kansas City.

America's National Churchill Museum in Fulton will celebrate its 50th anniversary May 3-5. Housed in a 17th-century Sir Christopher Wren church, relocated from London to Missouri, the museum commemorates Winston Churchill's historic "Iron Curtain" speech – delivered in 1946 at Westminster College in Fulton – and includes the largest Churchill collection in North America. The anniversary celebration will include a parade, exhibitions, concerts and presentations about Churchill and his legacy.

Seven Hermann area wineries will pair bacon-infused specialties with Missouri wines for the Wild Bacon Wine Trail May 4-5. On the menu: Mexican Street Corn and Bacon Soup, Bacon Twisted Romano Breadsticks, Chocolate Bacon Squares and more – plus breathtaking wine-country views.

Get to know Mark Twain and some of his most famous characters at the Twain on Main Festival May 25-26 in Hannibal, boyhood home of Missouri's most famous author. Enjoy story tellers, street magicians, arts and crafts, and children's games in the historic downtown area on the banks of the Mississippi River.

The St. Louis African Arts Festival, May 25-27, celebrates the richness of the African culture with programs, entertainment and culinary experiences. The World's Fair Pavilion in Forest Park will feature an African village atmosphere filled with artifacts, children's activities, cultural demonstrations, guided art tours, performing arts, jewelry and textiles.
