No Foolin': Missouri Has New Attractions Opening

May 15, 2018

Here in Missouri we have a Show-Me mentality, so it's no wonder we're not fooled easily. It only makes sense that on this first day of April we set the story straight on the goings-on in Mississippi … just kidding! Here's to no foolin' in Missouri.

The Gateway Arch IS reopening this year. With a ribbon cutting set for July 3, 2018, you'll be awed by the expanded landscaped grounds, modern entrance – complete with infinity pool, – upgraded museum and iconic ride to the top. With $380 million in renovations, the name change to Gateway Arch National Park is powder on the cake … Gooey Butter Cake that is.

Silver Dollar City's new roller coaster Time Traveler WILL turn your stomach. Touted as the world's fastest, steepest & tallest spinning coaster, prepare to get well-acquainted with your gag reflux. So strap in and hold on tight because you're in for one heck of a ride. Best to bring a spare change of clothes too, just in case.

After a long nine-year wait, Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium DID open in September 2017 and an amazing experience awaits. Featuring sharks bigger than your body, stingrays that are a touch away and murals so life-like you'll think you're in the African Savanna, this record-setting attraction has been dubbed the "Best New Attraction" by USA Today. And even better, the museum is always growing, as the 11 Antarctic Gentoo penguins who now call the museum home can attest.

You CAN search for Bigfoot in the Ozarks. Thanks to the folks at Bigfoot on the Strip, your expedition to discover the mysterious creature can become a reality. Join their research team as you traverse the Ozark Mountains aboard a safari truck, learning about Bigfoot and searching for signs of habitation. We doubt your friends can say they've ever had that experience.

April 1st may be for the fools but in Missouri we're all about the show. So get out there, have a great time, and create unforgettable memories … no foolin'!
