Celebrate The Gateway Arch and Its New Museum

Mark your calendars because the day is almost here! Tuesday, July 3 starts the Grand Opening celebration of the Museum at the Gateway Arch. This momentous event is kicking off with a bang so come enjoy various activities to celebrate the $380-million facelift of the Gateway Arch National Park. Pair the opening with Fair Saint Louis, Missouri's biggest Independence Day celebration. You can't go wrong planning a visit to St. Louis during the first week of July.

Tuesday, July 3

10 a.m. – Grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting, West Entrance to the Museum and Visitor Center.

11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. – Free outdoor celebration at North Gateway, near the Eads Bridge. Activities include: live music, food trucks, scavenger hunt, photo booth, face painters and more.

Noon – Museum at the Gateway Arch opens to the public. The first 10,000 visitors will receive a special-edition commemorative coin. Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance if you'd like to ride the tram to the top of the Gateway Arch.  

Wednesday, July 4

Dubbed "America's Biggest Birthday Party," Fair Saint Louis – a free admission event – offers an impressive lineup of events sure to wow.

9:30 a.m. – 136th Annual VP Parade in downtown St. Louis along Market Street. 

Noon – Fair Saint Louis opens; SCOPE STEAM exhibit offers educational fun.  

12:30 p.m. – Boeing Air Show

1:30 p.m. – Purina's Pro Plan Performance Team

3:30 p.m. – Purina's Pro Plan Performance Team

5:30 p.m. – Amelia Eisenhauer concert

6:45 p.m. – Boeing Air Show

8:30 p.m. – St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

9:35 p.m. – Edward Jones Fireworks

Thursday, July 5

Get a sample of the activities offered at the Arch during the Gateway Arch Park Foundation's Summer Social. Schedule of events includes:  

10 a.m.-10:45 a.m. – Yoga in the park

11 a.m.-11:20 a.m. – Family-friendly yoga

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. – Lunchtime Live, featuring food trucks, live music and oversized lawn games.

4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. – Food trucks, drink vendors and oversized lawn games

6 p.m.-8:45 p.m. – Live blues concert. Fireworks to follow end of show.

Friday, July 6            

4:00 p.m. – Fair Saint Louis Opens; SCOPE STEAM exhibit offers educational fun. 

4:30 p.m. – Purina's Pro Plan Performance Team

4:45 p.m. – Dirty Muggs concert

6:30 p.m. – Andy Grammer concert

8:15 p.m. – Jason Derulo concert

9:35 p.m. – Edward Jones Fireworks

Saturday, July 7

1:15 p.m. – Fire for Effect concert

2:45 p.m. – Danielle Bradbery concert

5:30 p.m. – Salute to the Troops Ceremony

Parking is available in any of St. Louis' downtown parking garages. Information on locations and pricing can be found here. Visitors can avoid road traffic by arriving via the MetroLink at the Laclede's Landing station, just north of the Gateway Arch.
