100 Years at the Muny in St. Louis

July 6, 2018

The show must go on. And, in the case of The Muny, on, and on, and on. Celebrating 100 years of entertaining the public, The Muny is credited with being the oldest and largest continually operating outdoor musical theatre in America. Touching the hearts of hundreds of thousands of fans, the St. Louis theatre brings Broadway productions to individuals with budgets of all sizes.

For an up-close view you can purchase seats directly in front of the stage or arrive early to claim one of the 1,450 free seats in the back of the house – offered at every show on a first-come, first-served basis. Worried about the heat? No need! The Muny has an air circulation system that keeps guests cool.

But it's not just about the show – it's about the experience. Join in the pre-show festivities, located outside the gates. Starting at 7 p.m., you'll find complimentary performances at the plaza, pavilion and lawn stage. Arrive hungry and grab a bite to eat at the on-site café and concessions, or make a reservation to partake in the gourmet buffet at The Culver Pavilion.

Extend your knowledge of The Muny with a visit to the Missouri History Museum, where the Muny Memories: 100 Seasons Onstage exhibit offers a glimpse into the theatre's past. You'll learn how productions are created, read about the famous stars who've graced the stage and see highlights from past seasons. The exhibit runs through June 2, 2019.

Cue the lights, prepare for action and settle in for an unforgettable show. After all, no matter where you sit, you'll be a part of history. Each seat carries the stories of visitors past and present. Share your story by using #MyMuny.
