On Fourth of July weekend, Harry S Truman State Park will host a kid’s boat race. Park staff builds rubber band-powered wooden boats out of recycled wood all winter long to be ready for this exciting event. Kids who participate will be given a boat to paint and decorate on Saturday night.
The next morning, on Sunday, everyone will race the boats at the campground swimming beach.
This is a great family activity that gets kids excited about being outside. It also gives them a chance to have fun and build a memory, which they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
For more information, call the park office at 660-438-7711.
