7C’s Winery will hold its 5th Annual MeadFest on Sep. 21, noon-6 p.m. This Medieval celebration will include competitions, recreations and living history by The Society of Creative Anachronism Shire of Oakheart (SCA).
There will be a costume contest for all ages, plus performances by Gypsy Sol Red Moon Tribe and a bird of prey demo from Dickerson Park Zoo. Enjoy the music by Rowan's Crossing. BBQ and turkey legs will be available from Smokeshack Bar B Que.
Bring the family and enjoy the fun. There is no charge to attend the event. Souvenir Mead tasting glasses are $5.
7C’s will have cold bottles of wine and mead as well as a few select beers available. PLEASE, don't bring outside alcohol! Cocoa, the chocolate lab, frowns on it.

Join us in downtown Macon on October 4 as we close the streets for the annual Fork & Cork Festival! The festival kicks off with an 8 a.m. Run/Walk followed with a 10 a.m. opening of the arts, crafts and antique vendors on Vine and Rollins Streets. At 11 a.m., local and regional musicians begin the day’s live entertainment while vendors tempt festival crowds with a wide variety of tasty food selections, wine and beer. Arts, crafts and antique vendors close at 6 p.m. but live music, food and beverages continue until the festival closes at 10 p.m.
Stroll downtown Macon glass in hand, view artwork, crafts and antiques, or just sit and savor food and beverages (inside, outside or under tents) while enjoying music that ranges from contemporary to 50s favorites, from bluegrass to rock.
The festival is sponsored by the Macon Mainstreet Downtown Association and a portion of many vendors' sales is donated back to the Association for development of the historical downtown area.
Macon is located at the intersection of Hwy 63 and 36 in Northeast Missouri. From 63, head west on Vine Street. Parking and admission are free. The “Independence Uncorked” Wine Festival will be held on September 13, 2014 from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. on the grounds of the Historic Bingham-Waggoner Estate in Independence, MO.
Independence Uncorked will be one of the largest Missouri wine festivals in the state featuring over 20 Missouri wineries sampling several of their wines and over 2000 attendees. The day will also feature art, music and food booths.
The cost will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door and will include a wine glass.
The Bingham-Waggoner Estate is an 1852 mansion and estate once owner by George Caleb Bingham, the famous Missouri artist. Proceeds from the events will go towards various national and local charities supported by Rotary.
