A visit to each of these six wineries brings a different wine experience. Sample their private label wines; learn about the Missouri wine industry; and enjoy a relaxing interlude in the countryside. Special, themed Wine Trail events are held throughout the year. The eighteenth-century Colonial French village of Ste. Genevieve is the oldest European settlement west of the Mississippi River. It has the greatest concentration of French Colonial buildings in North America. Ste. Gen. is four miles off of I-55; one hour south of St. Louis; one hour north of Cape Girardeau. Note: no outside beverages (wine, beer, liquor, sodas) are allowed at any Missouri winery; leave beverages in your car.

Breakfast is a specialty all day at the Huddle House (yes, lunch and supper are served). Their Southern Smothered Biscuit Platter with Eggs is an original.

This winery occupies a circa 1900 house beside the Mississippi River, in the historic district. In addition to grape wines, they produce an impressive array of fruit wines. Enjoy free samples and browse the wine and gift shop. Sausages and cheeses are available for an outdoor picnic under the grape arbor.

The tasting room at Cave Vineyard sits above a natural cave wine cellar. Sample Strussione Wines; visit the Cave; take in the scenic views of the vineyard and rolling hills from the outdoor pavilion. This is truly a unique wine experience. Bring your own picnic, or purchase cheeses and sausages in the tasting room.

Here, there is a tasting room where you may sample their wines and their microbrews. The large, open-air patio, with a panoramic view of the vineyards, is a great place to relax and share a bottle of wine. Bring your own picnic, or purchase one there. The restored 1860s log cabin at the winery serves as a rustic Bed and Breakfast on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Twin Oaks Winery tasting room sits in the vineyard, making it a lovely spot to relax with a glass of wine. Our tasting room, with its circa 1900 bar, features antiques, movie memorabilia, a cozy fireplace and large-screen TVs. Fresh meats, cheeses, crackers, fruit and chocolates are available. The expansive outdoor patio, located next to a lake, is the perfect gathering place. Weekend activities include live entertainment and special events, April thru October.

Dine at the Old Brick House Restaurant, in the historic district of Ste. Genevieve. Erected in 1780, it is thought to be the oldest brick building west of the Mississippi River. The bricks are believed to have been carried as ballast, in boats from France.
