This park, four miles west of Trenton, is dedicated to Gen. Enoch Crowder, founder of the selective service system. It features camping, hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails, an organized group camp, picnic sites and shelters, and a lake for fishing and swimming.

Reservable basic and electric campsites, a group camp and a special-use camping area are your camping options at this park. Services include showers, water and a dump station. The park is dedicated to the memory of Gen. Enoch Crowder, who founded the selective service system. It features trails, picnic sites and a lake for fishing and swimming. Campers planning to carry in firewood must comply with current firewood advisories. The use of generators is prohibited in the campground, unless approved by the park manager. There is a bass fishing pond on-property. We are 30 miles from the Amish community of Jamesport and its antiques and crafts shops; 25 miles from Chillicothe, famous for beautiful store side murals and known as the home of sliced bread.

Built in 1949, in memory of her husband, by the widow of Governor Hyde, who served as Missouri's Governor in the 1930s. Four guestrooms; private baths; living with a fireplace and a baby grand piano; well-stocked library; screened porch; recreation room with pool table; entertainment center; and wet bar. Middle of Nowhere features a covered, 100-yard rifle range, built to NRA specifications. The safety berm is more than 24 feet tall. Shooting benches for left- and right-handed shooters are secured for stability. Target stands are provided. All stands are portable and may be positioned at any distance. Our handgun course is co-located with the rifle range. It is covered and has portable targets and banks of metal reactive targets at various distances that can be re-set without going downrange.

Our five-stand, covered, shotgun course features six Lincoln automatic traps. Our mile-long 3-D archery course features 24 full-size Delta targets that include bear, cougar, turkey, antelope and deer; it is approved by the Field Archers Association and. Targets are placed throughout the woods, allowing for realistic hunting shots. A fixed distance archery target range is available to ensure your sites are adjusted properly.

A retail firearms store is available to purchase targets, hearing protection, ammunition and other shooting-related items. NRA firearms courses are available throughout the year.

Facilities include: restaurant and bar; horse trails and boarding; lodging and RV sites with electric and water. We are 13 miles northeast of Trenton, off of Route 139.

Hearing and eye protection are required for all shooters and spectators.

Our 800-acre resort features: lodges, RV sites and camping, a restaurant/bar, outdoor rifle, pistol, shotgun and archery ranges, marked horse trails, retail firearms and outdoor store, fishing ponds, hiking trails, off-road vehicle (ORV) trails, hunting packages, firearms classes and more.

Horse stables and pens are avilable for overnight guests. Lodges are fully equipped (linens, cooking implements, central heat/air, outdoor grill) and feature all the conveniences of home to include satellite TV and DVD players. Our smallest lodge consists of two bedrooms with two twin beds, a large living room with two sofa sleepers and an adjacent kitchen with full-size appliances.

Our other lodges feature three bedrooms with two beds each, two baths, eat-in kitchens, laundry rooms and large living rooms with sofa sleepers. Large picnic tables and chairs, coupled with plenty of firewood and a large grassy play area, help make this a great place to get away. With no ambient light, it is a star gazer's dream.

Full hook-up, graveled RV sites are adjacent to the lodges and feature 30, 50 and 110-amp plugs with multiple water faucets. A dump station is located on-site with plenty of turn-around area. All lodging, RV sites and camping are available year-round, however, the main clubhouse is only open on Friday-Sunday for check-in/out.

Other arrival/departure times may be coordinated in advance. We are a "pet-friendly" facility.

Middle of Nowhere Ranch offers many wooded and open horse trails for the novice or the experienced rider. With more than 800 acres of continuous land, riders can spend hours without seeing the same terrain. Many locations have been groomed for "stop-overs" which could include a meal break or a rest stop for horse or rider.

Large turn-around areas for horse trailers are located throughout the complex, and full hook-ups for RVs, or lodges, are available for overnight guests. We offer fully-equipped lodges with central air/heat, kitchens and laundry rooms. Temporary stalls and pens are available for a fee.

We offer long-term boarding with various rates to fit the owner's needs. A hitching post and water station is available at the main clubhouse, where guests find our restaurant. Horses are available for rent, but advance notice is required. The fee for horse rental starts at $15.

Daily riding rates for people who bring their own mounts is $15 per day, per horse. Riding is available year-round, however our main clubhouse/retail store is only open Friday through Sunday. Advance coordination is required if arriving/departing any other day for riding or staying overnight.

Middle of Nowhere Ranch Outfitters offers a venue for white tail deer and turkey hunting. With more than 800 contiguous acres featuring heavy woods combined with open, rolling pastures, and surrounded by various fields of corn, game is plentiful. We offer 26 pre-positioned "buddy stands" which have been placed at known deer activity sites. A land orientation is required prior to engaging in any hunting activity.

Hunting is limited to our overnight guests only, and a minimum hunting package consists of a land orientation, two nights of accommodations and two hunting days. Our accommodations consist of fully-equipped lodges or RV sites with full hook-ups. We limit the number of hunters for safety. Our retail store offers licenses during normal business hours.

Hunting package rates vary depending upon the season and the species hunted. Sample package prices are available on our website (see link above). Hunters may arrive and depart any time, however, our main clubhouse is only open Friday-Sunday. Arrivals/departures other than those days must coordinate in advance.

The Restaurant at Middle of Nowhere Ranch is a full-service restaurant featuring many favorites, such as fried catfish, shrimp, steaks, sandwiches and a wide range of appetizers that include onion rings, fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. Hot corn muffins, made on-site, from a secret recipe, are served with honey butter. We offer a children's menu featuring macaroni and cheese; peanut butter and jelly sandwich; and chicken fingers.

During our supper hour (after 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday) we offer a large salad bar with more than 30 items; make it your meal or have it with your meal. Our menu includes many items like our four-bean chili, made from scratch ham and beans, and our signature nacho meat used for our well-known nacho appetizer.

We have adult beverages, as well as juices, brewed iced tea and Pepsi fountain products. Most items can be made to-go. Package sales of various beers, wines and liquors are available for carry-out.
