The two-story courthouse, built in 1873, houses the courtroom where the Ford brothers were tried for the murder of Jesse James. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

In 1905, using a portion of the proceeds from the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, the general assembly appropriated $185,000 to build the present Supreme Court Building. The three-story, red-brick building opened in October 1907. It features French Renaissance architecture, stone pillars at each wing of the front facade, stone trim and a slate roof. Prominent in the lobby is a massive marble staircase. Free half-hour tours of this historic building are available during most business days. Tour times fill quickly, so please schedule your tour well in advance. Closed Saturdays, Sundays and state hoilidays.

Experience Chillicothe’s history through these 17 larger than life scenes; a unique way to transform the streetscape of a community is through artistic renderings on barren walls.

The themes include the Utica Brick Plant; Sports; and historical depictions of Chillicothe as it existed in 1928—the year we became the Home of Sliced Bread.

Citygarden combines sculpture, plants, fountains and architecture into one location in downtown St. Louis. The area offers a vibrant, serene blending of lush plantings and internationally-renowned sculpture with water, stone, architecture and design. The Terrace View restaurant is on-site.

Handmade colonial Windsor chairs made using traditional hand tools and techniques of the late 1700s. No power tools, nails or screws are used. Visitors are welcome to watch the process of crafting these beautiful chairs.

See the site where the nation's first recorded shootout occurred and helped solidify the reputation of "Wild Bill" Hickok. A historic marker commemorating the famous 1865 shootout between “Wild Bill” Hickok and Dave Tutt has been installed at the southwest corner of the outer Square sidewalk, near the Park Central Branch Library. The plaque is a 30-by-24-inch piece of engraved aluminum with custom artwork and a description of the circumstances surrounding the duel, which began over a pocketwatch used as collateral for a gambling debt and ended in Tutt’s death. Hickok was uninjured and was acquitted of manslaughter by a jury after a three-day trial. Hickok is one of the Old West’s most enduring figures thanks to his exploits as a soldier, gambler, gunfighter, and lawman.

Visit Kansas City's oldest remaining brick residence located in historic Westport. The Greek Revival mansion, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built by early Westport settlers, John and Henrietta Harris. The house stands prominately on the Battle of Westport Civil War Battlefield. In the fall of 1861, the Harris home was used as headquaters for the Union Army. A 15-foot-long, steel replica of the Cuba-Salem branch train sits at the intersection of Route 19 and Washington Boulevard. Father and son team Glen and Curtis Tutterrow sculpted the train in three pieces, which were welded together. While visiting the train, please enjoy the 12 outdoor murals along the Route 66 corridor. Mural brochures are available in some area businesses and at the I-44 Visitor Center.

Life-size bronze statue honoring the 1st Kansas Colored Volunteer Infantry, the first uniformed all Black American unit to fight in the Civil War. The unit fought in the October 1862 Battle of Island Mound, also known as the Battle of Fort Toothman.

A beautiful home in a cove at the 28-Mile-Marker on the Lake of the Ozarks. This home has an outstanding view with four decks plus a private boat dock.
