The Peabody Opera House, with its classic splendor restored, and the addition of state-of-the-art amenities, is the latest incarnation of the 1934 Municipal Auditorium complex that later became known as Kiel Auditorium.
The Opera House features an ornate main theatre, with approximately 3,100 seats, and 12 luxury boxes; a two-story front lobby, constructed entirely of Tennessee and Ste. Genevieve marble; four small side theaters or halls; and an exposition hall.
Productions include Broadway theatricals, concerts and family show. The Peabody is in downtown St. Louis, adjacent to the Scottrade Center, two blocks from the Union Station complex, approximately a mile from Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch.
Tours of the facilitiy are available for groups of 20 or more, by reservation only; must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
