We have six RV sites. Four are pull-thru; two are large back in sites. These oversize spaces all accommodate big rigs and slide-outs. There are several large hardwood trees providing shade for each site. Firewood is available.

This museum includes a remodeled school house, a log cabin, a 1950s fire engine,  and a bookstore offering local authors and artists. Fields' Photo Archives offers thousands of negatives for sale.

A restored railroad depot housing historical artifacts reflecting Cameron's history as a transportation hub. there are two cabooses on display. Open May through August.

Scenic lackeside coves offer irresistible fishing and picnicking spots at this park, bordering Wappapello Lake. Campgrounds, cabins, camper cabins, nature programs, hiking, backpacking, equestrian and mountain biking trails, boat ramps and a beach highlight the park. The park is 16 miles north of Poplar Bluff.

Off-road vehicle (ORV) riders can zoom across 2,000 acres; one of the largest ORV areas in the Midwest. Camping, equestrian camping, lakes for fishing and swimming, picnicking and hiking, equestrian, backpack and bicycle trails, and a radio controlled airplane field are features.

Stockton State Park, overlooks Stockton Lake. A steady breeze across the Springfield plateau makes this park a favorite among sailing enthusiasts. It offers camping, camper and duplex cabins, picnic sites and shelters, dining, a marina, a beach and fishing.

The Missouri Indians, who gave their name to the state and river, once inhabited this area. Exhibits inside Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center and an earthwork called the Old Fort showcase the park's history and the history of American Indians in Missouri. Picnicking, camping, small lake fishing and trails, including a boardwalk trail through the park's wetland, are available. The park is located 12 miles northwest of Marshall.

The Santa Fe Trail crossed the Missouri River here. Landmarks include artist George Caleb Bingham's house, the circa 1834 Huston Tavern, a one-room jail, a visitor center museum, camping, hiking trails and picnicking. The Huston Tavern offers dining in an 1860s atmosphere. Arrow Rock is 13 miles north of I-70.

This 135-acre memorial park area of the Confederate Home of Missouri is preserved in memory of the 40,000 Missourians who fought under the Confederate flag. Visitors can tour the cemetery and chapel. The site includes the chapel, cemetery, picnic sites and several small fishing lakes.

Located in Mark Twain State Park, off Route 107, this museum encloses the two-room cabin in which Samuel Clemens was born in 1835. Many of his personal items and books are displayed, including an early handwritten manuscript of Tom Sawyer. Picnic sites are available.

This park, straddling the Meramec River, is an excellent location for canoeing and fishing. Open for day use only, the park features picnic sites and shelters, a boat ramp and hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails.

Bennett Spring is the state’s third-largest spring. Trout fishing, lodging, camping, dining, fly-fishing schools, a nature center, a swimming pool, float trips, hiking trails, a store and picnicking are park features. The park is 12 miles west of Lebanon. Trout season is March-October. A Missouri fishing license and daily trout tag are required to fish. Pets are not allowed in buildings.

The 625-acre Oxbow Lake, 11 miles southwest of Mound City, is perfect for fishing. The park offers lodging, camping, dining, a swimming pool, a snack bar, a store and picnicking. It is an area for bird watching, as it lies along a major migratory flyway.

This park, four miles west of Trenton, is dedicated to Gen. Enoch Crowder, founder of the selective service system. It features camping, hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails, an organized group camp, picnic sites and shelters, and a lake for fishing and swimming.

More than 38 miles of hiking, backpacking and equestrian trails wind through this 6,393-acre park. Camping, equestrian camping, a lake for fishing and swimming, picnicking, an organized group camp and a visitor center are features. The park is located three miles east of Troy.

The St. Francois Mountains provide the backdrop for this scenic park. Great for families, it offers fishing, float trips, nature programs, camping (including equestrian), dining, cabins, hiking, backpacking and horse trails, a bicycle trail, picnicking and a stream for splashing.

This park features water recreation on the 2,430-acre Long Branch Lake, which has an excellent reputation for bass fishing. A swimming beach, trails, camping, an accessible fishing dock, a store, boat slips, and picnic sites and shelters are features. The park is located two miles west of Macon off Route 36.

This park is home to a spectacular show cave, which is a National Natural Landmark. Tours are offered March through October. The park also features Meramec River access, camping, scenic hiking trails, a lake, and picnic sites and a shelter. Cave Tours: 573-245-6600. The park is located seven miles southeast of I-44 on Route H.

Located along the 7,800-acre Pomme de Terre Lake, solitude, sunshine and muskie can all be found. The park has two areas, near Hermitage and Pittsburg, with campsites, beaches, boat ramps, a marina, trails and picnic sites and a shelter.

Located along the Meramec River, this 1,224-acre park offers camping, picnic sites and shelters, hiking trails and river access for boating and fishing. Birds also flock to this park, making it great for bird watchers.

Driving along the rural highways in southeast Missouri, travelers may notice an abundance of farmland. Amid this farmland though, near East Prairie, 1,029 acres of the area's original landscape has been preserved and stands out above the rest. This island of trees in a sea of agriculture is known as Big Oak Tree State Park. A boardwalk allows visitors to walk alongside champion trees and through wetlands. The interpretive center highlights the park's flora and fauna. Picnic sites and a shelter are available along with hiking trails and a small lake for fishing. The park is managed by Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site.

Towering bluffs offer a majestic view of the Lake of the Ozarks. The remains of a huge stone castle add an air of mystery. Trails wind by caves, a spring and a natural bridge. This day-use park features two courtesy docks, picnicking and an accessible fishing dock.

Surrounded by water on three sides, the park encompasses the tip of a peninsula jutting into Truman Lake. It is located west of Warsaw off Route 7 and offers a marina, camping, hiking, picnic sites and a shelter, swimming, boat rentals and ramps, and great fishing.

This reclaimed strip mine area, 10 miles north of Columbia off Route 63, is one of two state parks where off-road motorcycling and ATV riding is allowed. Trails and a motocross track are available. There are seven strip pits for swimming, canoeing and fishing. Camping and picnicking are available.

Radiocarbon dating indicates the park's shelter cave was inhabited more than 10,000 years ago. The park, two miles west of Danville along the Loutre River, features camping, hiking and mountain biking trails, fishing, a boat ramp and picnicking.

Trout fishermen flock to the rugged and scenic Roaring River State Park.  The park offers trails, camping, cabins, a swimming pool, a nature center, picnic sites and shelters, and dining. The Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center echoes the park's rustic atmosphere.

At this site, Union troops defeated the pro-south Missouri State Guard in 1861; it was the northernmost Civil War battle west of the Mississippi River. The site features camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing and boating. History tours from one to six hours in duration are available. Guided natural history tours and hikes lasting up to two hours are offered. The site is located 10 miles north of Kahoka.

Knob Noster State Park, off Route 50 on Route 23, is a 3,934-acre area with thick forests, clear lakes and grasslands. Camping, equestrian camping, hiking, fishing, group camps, nature study areas, and an equestrian trail are available.

Missouri's largest state park has 89 miles of shoreline, two swimming beaches, boat-launching areas, marinas, campgrounds, camper cabins, a yurt, hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails, tours of Ozark Caverns, trail rides and organized group camps.

Meriwether Lewis and William Clark noted great quantities of fish an geese and goslings here in 1804. Bordering Lewis and Clark Lake, this park is still a great place for bird watching. Camping, picnicking, fishing, a boat ramp and a beach are features. Located 20 miles southwest of St. Joseph off Route 138.

Scenic views from limestone bluffs and woodlands await at this park. Located on Mark Twain Lake, the park features camping, camper cabins, fishing, a boat ramp, hiking trails, a beach, an organized group camp, and picnic sites and shelters. Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site is located in the park. Grounds open sunrise to 10 p.m. daily.

Meramec State Park, located along the Meramec River, is a favorite with canoeists and fishermen. It features a store/grill, a visitor center, hiking and backpacking trails, cabins, a motel with a conference center, canoe and raft rentals and camping. There are more than 40 caves in the park; guided tours are given of Fisher Cave. The park is three miles south of Sullivan on Route 185.

The seven springs within Montauk State Park form the headwaters of the Current River. Regular stocking of rainbow trout provides excellent fishing. Trout fishing season runs from March-Oct. 31. The park, 21 miles southwest of Salem, features an old gristmill, campgrounds, cabins, a new fourplex, a motel, a dining lodge, hiking and picnicking.

Established in honor of Gen. John J. Pershing, the park serves as an example of the original landscape of northern Missouri. The park's boardwalk and backpack trails wind through a wet prairie. Also enjoy camping, fishing and picnicking. The park is located two miles west of Laclede off Route 36.

This day-use park features a small section of old Route 66 and a visitor center with Route 66 and Times Beach exhibits. It provides Meramec River access, picnic areas and shelters, and trails for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding.

Visitors to Branson can make their headquarters at this park, located along Table Rock Lake. The park features a marina, scuba diving, fishing, a boat ramp, camping, a paved walking and bicycle trail, and picnic sites and a shelter. It is located five miles west of Branson.

Daily tours are given of the 19th century woolen mill and Watkins home. This is the only 19th century American woolen mill with its original machinery still intact. During the summer months, a Living History Farm Program is featured on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The site features a visitor center, a lake, camping, picnic sites and a shelter, fishing, a paved bicycle trail, a swimming beach, and hiking and equestrian trails. The site is located seven miles east of I-35 on Route 92, then one mile north on Route RA.

Highlights of Thousand Hills State Park include American Indian rock carvings (petroglyphs) more than 1,500 years old, and the 573-acre Forrest Lake. The petroglyphs are listed on National Register of Historic Places. The park features a beach, a marina, a boat ramp, fishing, campsites, hiking, mountain biking and backpacking trails, picnic areas, cabins and dining. The park is located two miles west of Kirksville, off Route 6.

This heavily wooded park is a favorite of bird watchers and solitude seekers. It features individual and group campsites, hiking trails, fishing, and picnic sites and shelters. Trice-Dedman Memorial Woods, owned by The Nature Conservancy, is nearby. The park is located six miles south of Cameron.

Petroglyphs (rock carvings)left by prehistoric Indians are preserved in this park. Other features include canoeing and fishing on Big River, campsites, cabins, a swimming pool, hiking and backpacking trails, and picnic sites and shelters.

Tucked between colorful Ozark hills, Dillard Mill, bult in 1900, is one of Missouri’s best-preserved examples of a water-powered gristmill. The red mill overlooking the spring-fed Huzzah Creek makes a picturesque place to picnic and hike. Tours: $2.50; ages 6-12, $1.50.

A favorite of fishermen, the park's lakes offer black bass, channel catfish and bluegill. The park features the state's largest natural sand beach, camping, hiking and mountain biking trails, picnicking and rentable recreational trailers. It is a great place for bird watching. The park is located three miles south of La Grange off Route 61.

This park, rich in Civil War lore, comprises the rugged Pike Run Hills surrounding Coonville Creek and Big River. Camping, hiking, backpacking and equestrian trails, and picnic sites and shelters are all featured at the park.

The Trail of Tears, the forced relocation of Cherokee Indians from Tennessee to Oklahoma in the 1830s, passed through this area. Exhibits interpret the event. The park offers camping, hiking, equestrian and backpacking trails, a lake, fishing, a swimmimg beach, picnicking and an accessible overlook of the Mississippi River.

Onondaga Cave, a National Natural Landmark within Onondaga Cave State Park, is recognized as one of the most spectacular caves in the nation because of the quality of its formations. Cave Tours, March-October.

This two-bedroom, one-bath lakefront home is fully equipped; just bring your food, personal items, towels and toys. There is a private dock. Water activities are abundant at the Lake of the Ozarks. Once part of the Mother Road, Route 66, this bridge across the Mississippi River was re-opened in 1999 as one of the world's longest pedestrian-bicycle bridges. It connects Missouri’s St. Louis Riverfront Trail and the MCT Confluence Trail, in Illinois. This is a particularly scenic stretch of the Mississippi River, overlooking the natural chain of rocks, from which it derives its name.

In a valley at the confluence of the Osage and Missouri Rivers. During its prime, Bonnots Mill was a hub for commerce, with riverboats and steam engines supplying the region with goods. This early French settlement now offers restaurants, a bed and breakfast, a wedding chapel and a general store.

The mansion was constructed in 1871 as the official residence of Missouri's first family. The state's first family invites you to tour their home to see its beautiful architecture and period furniture, and to learn the history of many of the state's great governors. Public, guided tours of the first floor are conducted every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Go to the tours page of the mansion's Web site to schedule a tour.

Hands-on activities are available to help you gain an appreciation of living in the 1800s. We can accommodate large groups and bus tours; a meal can be prepared with prior arrangements. We are located 12 miles south of Perryville on Route 61; west on Route A to Forhna; then north on Route C. We are 35 miles north of Cape Girardeau.
