Wine aficionados know the area around Augusta holds several cool wineries, including Noboleis Vineyards. The friendly staff teaches visitors all about wine, which is crafted at Noboleis from estate-grown grapes. Pair your glass of vino with a tasty selection from the kitchen that serves some of the tastiest food at a winery in Missouri. The winter lunch menu offers salads and pastas; summertime, they add grilled paninis, sandwiches and stone-baked pizzas.

Missouri Winery Tours Where You Would Least Expect Them

Sometimes, finding a great winery in Missouri means going off the beaten path. Although their address says Knob Noster, this top-notch winery is actually located in the quaint village of Montserrat, midway between Warrensburg and Knob Noster (Route 50; south on Route P). The vintners at Montserrat Vineyards pairs the fruit of the vine with a phenomenal view. Situated on the highest point in Johnson County, the winery and surrounding vineyards offer a beautiful setting for a day at the winery with friends. Tour the spot at this winery that Civil War soldiers used as a lookout point, because of the incredible view. The winery serves picnic fare.

Cool Wineries near Smithville, New Haven and Mount Sterling

Escape from the rush of the workaday world with a trip to Ladoga Ridge Winery, 1.6 miles from Smithville, Ladoga Ridge offers free wine tasting; wine sales; a gift shop; live music (select days); and tours. Order from the lunch and dessert menus. Sit inside, or soak up some sun in the outdoor seating area, surrounded by four acres of vineyards.

In the town of New Haven, Robller Vineyard Winery produces a variety of excellent wines. Whether you favor a crisp white, a spicy red, or an in-between blush, you'll find your perfect match at Robller. This winery in Missouri specializes in French-hybrid varietals and European-style blends. Also, they create an award-winning dry red wine from the flavorful Norton grape – the official state grape of Missouri. Take a picnic and a kite; there is lots of room on their terraced lawn.

Wenwood Farm Winery
is one of the coolest wineries in Missouri. They offer a full range of award-winning, hand-crafted wines; plus a changing list of seasonal and limited-release selections. Wenwood is always a fun place – they host festivals, art fairs and music events throughout the year. The winery’s activities take place off of Route A, 5.6 miles south of Mount Sterling. Snack items that go good with wine, plus cheese and crackers are available year-round; most summer weekends they fire-up the charcoal grill for burgers, hot dogs and brats.
