Representatives from Incredible Bats present live bat shows, featuring African straw colored fruit bats. When they are not participating with the shows, the fruit bats are on display in the visitor center. The event includes discounted prices for tours of Onondaga Cave; exhibits on cave gear decontamination; White Nose Syndrome; cave restoration; Missouri Bat Census and other topics.
Saturday evening, see bat biologists as they study bats through mist-netting at Onondaga Cave’s natural entrance.
Onondaga Cave State Park and the Onondaga Friends Association host this event, which is coordinated and sponsored by the World Bird Sanctuary, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Missouri Bat Census and the Missouri Department of Transportation.
