Missouri Town 1855 celebrates the variety of traditions of the 19th century at Christmas time. Settlers new to the frontier use native materials to adorn the buildings throughout the village. The residents of the town also display their cherished heirlooms passed down through the generations at this festive time of year. A special visit from a 19th century Santa Claus is sure to delight the child in all of us.
Families and their dogs are invited to wear costumes and join the costume parade from City Hall Plaza to Howard Station Park. Awards are given for the best costumes.
After the parade, children are welcome to trick-or-treat at participating downtown businesses.
Jackson County Parks and Rec invite you to share the richness of our pioneer heritage at the annual Missouri Town 1855 Fall Festival. This antebellum village comes alive with the smell of wood fires and hot apple cider.
Vintage craftsmen will be demonstrating their 19th century skills, as children eagerly participate in the games and contests of yesteryear. Build up an appetite for some old-fashioned vittles while kicking up your heels to period music.
Join the fun...you won't want to miss Missouri Town's biggest event of the year!
