The lake has a picnic area, boat docks, boat ramp, boat rental, pavilion, fishing dock and water fowl blinds. Boating is limited to 40-horsepower motors. Excellent muskie poplulation is developing in the lake. Many areas are wheelchair accessible, including fishing dock, boat ramp and restrooms. Take Route 65 north five miles to Greene County Route AA, turn left to find access point.

This 55,600-plus acre lake offers 958 miles of coast line and has created a diverse wildlife area rich in the history of Osage Indians, explorers, fur trappers, traders and settlers. Harry S Truman State Park, located on the peninsula that juts into the lake, opened in 1983.

Clear waters, dramatic bluffs and vibrant summer and fall colors make Harry S Truman State Park an ideal place to vacation. The park offers a marina, ample fishing and boating opportunities and water that are ideal for every kind of swimmer. Hiking trails, picnic areas and campsites that dot the park's open oak woodlands, natural grasslands and lakeside areas let visitors enjoy the abundance of wildlife and recreation opportunities at this park.

Truman Lake is a great location for fishing, even in the winter, as power from Truman Dam helps heat the water. Truman Lake is nationally known for its excellent crappie and bass fishing. The reservoir is fed by four rivers and several small streams, creating a broad diversity for fishing.

More than 8,800 acres of timber were left standing in the lake to improve aquatic habitat. The lake often hosts major fishing tournaments.

For information, please call 660-332-7166. Fees are $12 for camp sites with hookups; $7 for primitive sites. People who bring their own boats will be required to pay a fee, which is $25 for a year or $2 per day.

This recreation area offers a picnic area and 15-acre lake known for largemouth bass, sunfish, panfish and channel catfish fishing. The lake is a non-motorized area; boat motors are not allowed. An electric trolling motor is permitted. There is ample parking for picnickers and fishermen. The campground is primitive with limited picnic tables, firerings, grills and lantern posts. A vault toilet is provided. No drinking water is available.

There is hiking at McCormack Lake Recreation Area. This is a trailhead for the 3.7-mile McCormack-Greer Trail, which ends at Greer Crossing Picnic Area and also connects to Ozark Trail. McCormack Lake Recreation Area is located on paved Forest Road 3155 off of Highway 19.

This lake was built by the Santa Fe Railroad in 1907. Since the 1920s it has been a swimming, fishing, and picnicking destination for La Plata and surrounding area. The lake is open from Memorial Day-Labor Day.

Shelbina Lake offers a variety of activities, from fishing and boating to camping. No swimming or wading is allowed.

There are approximately 76 camper-sites, with full hook-ups, along with a few tent-sites–all sites have electrical; five shelter houses; playground equipment; restrooms; a volleyball court; tennis court; basketball courts; and a nine-hole golf course is adjacent.

Bait and tackle, charcoal, food, soda, ice and snacks are available at the Pro Shop on the west side of lake; camping fees are collected there.

A 7,190-acre recreational lake for boating, fishing, sailing, and swimming. Shoreline activities include golf courses, campgrounds, picnic shelters/areas and trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.

There are two full-service marinas with boat rentals. Park passes start at $5 per car. Free admission available at specific trailheads. Fees for boating, camping, golf and other activities.

Camping is available in four Corps of Engineers developed recreation areas; many with full hookups; most have electric, fire grills, lantern hangers, picnic tables and asphalt pads. Areas have showers, restrooms, sanitary stations, trails, scenic overlooks, launch ramps, and beaches and playgrounds.

Located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, this lake offers a variety of activities. With more than 44,000 acres of land, guests may hunt, fish, swim, boat, camp or picnic. A visitor center features displays, and often hosts programs, designed to showcase the natural beauty of Southeast Missouri.

The lake is known for its largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, white bass and channel catfish fishing opportunities. The surrounding area is home to many animals, including deer, turkey, dove and quail. The area also includes equestrian and hiking trails, along with sites for camping.
