Missouri Town 1855 celebrates the variety of traditions of the 19th century at Christmas time. Settlers new to the frontier use native materials to adorn the buildings throughout the village. The residents of the town also display their cherished heirlooms passed down through the generations at this festive time of year. A special visit from a 19th century Santa Claus is sure to delight the child in all of us.
Join Santa at the Farmers Market in downtown Lee’s Summit. He’ll be in his "summer outfit" taking pictures with kids. Customers can also enter to win a Farmers Market gift basket while shopping for fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts and more.
Collect fun, holiday cookies from participating Downtown Lee's Summit businesses and receive a cookie recipe book.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Limited number of tickets available. Tickets are $10.
Join the Mayor of Lee's Summit as he lights the Downtown. Free hot chocolate and cookies, choir performances, a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves, and much more will get you in the holiday spirit.
Participate in the Merry & Bright: Wrap Yourself in Lights contest, visit with Santa, then shop at participating businesses open late and eat at Downtown restaurants.
Gain a new perspective on the celebration of our nation's independence as the staff and volunteers at Missouri Town celebrate 1850's style. Period music and dance will provide a backdrop for a guaranteed unique and fun day. Children can play games of the 1850's while parents can witness craft and cooking demonstrations. The annual parade is a "must" see as our visitors join the staff in a stroll through the antebellum town!
