Located along the 7,800-acre Pomme de Terre Lake, this park offers lots of solitude and sunshine. The park has two areas, near Hermitage and Pittsburg, with campsites, beaches, boat ramps, a marina, trails and picnic sites and a shelter.
Pomme de Terre Lake is an anglers dream; this is the spot for those seeking trophy muskie. No other freshwater fish offers the combination of size, strength, ferociousness, and "big game" appeal than the muskie.
Camping is offered year-round with basic, electric and electric/water sites. There is a full-service marina available, a beach, shelter house, laundry, picnic area and trails. The water, showerhouse and dump stations are seasonal. The park is located at the 7,800-acre Pomme de Terre Lake, which offers special opportunities to catch Muskie. A swimming beach, marina, trails, yurts and picnicking are available. Camping reservations: 877-422-6766 and online.
Specializing in muskie and walleye on Lake Pomme de Terre. We provide all the quality equipment needed; just bring yourself and a desire to catch a muskellunge. You will need a current Missouri fishing license; rain gear (if necessary); beverages (we supply free bottled water; and lunch/snacks (we can stop at a marina).
Don’t forget your camera. No alcohol on the boat. We can arrange lodging. There is a check list on their website.
The management lands consist of more than 58,000 acres distributed around the Truman Reservoir in parts of Henry, Benton, Hickory and St. Clair counties in west central Missouri.
Historically, American Indians occupying this area were principally Osage, Shawnee and Kickapoo.
The area is known for great bird watching, fishing and hunting. Trapping by special permit.
