This 358,000-square-foot Harley-Davidson plant was built in 1998, producing the Sportster®, Dyna® and V-Rod® families of motorcycles from fabrication and finishing through final assembly.
The tour center features displays that guide you through the manufacturing and assembly processes. Sit on current production motorcycles and visit the gift shop.
Your tour begins with a video. Then, on the factory floor, you watch operations from welding, laser-cutting and frame-bending, to polishing and assembly. See fenders and fuel tanks being formed, newly painted frames hanging on the line and sophisticated robotic welding technology. You'll see the liquid-cooled Revolution® powertrain assembled from crankcase to cylinder heads.
Free Tours. A one-hour tour begins at regular intervals, Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Tickets are distributed on a first- come, first-served basis. It is recommended that you arrive early.
The Steel Toe Tour ($35). This two-hour trip goes behind-the-scenes, through areas previously unseen by the general public. It is the only factory tour where you see Harley-Davidsons assembled and brought to life through the manufacturing of fuel tanks, frames, and fenders, as well as many ‘employee only’ areas in paint and polish.
On this tour, you are required to wear a safety vest, safety glasses and steel toe protection – all of which are provided. Two sessions are offered Mon.-Thu.: 9:15 a.m. and noon. (Other sessions may be added at peak times.)
Steel Toe Tour: One tour ticket; Commemorative pin; Group photo; Safety vest; a $5 coupon, redeemable in the gift shop.
Children younger than 12 are welcome in the Tour Center, but are not allowed on the factory floor. Visitors younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
