Join the age-old showdown between food and fitness by eating cupcakes and earning a six-pack of beer while running a 5K at the Gateway Cupcake 5K Run and Walk and Bottlecap Dash 5K Obstacle Run.
The run takes place on the streets of Forest Park near the Jewel Box; Eaters take pit stops each kilometer to snack on cupcakes in exchange for time deductions or you can enter as a Competer who runs past cupcakes.
The Bottle Cap Dash Boot Camp Edition 5K Run combines a run with fitness challenges and obstacles. Racers select bottle caps, which they redeem at the end of the race for a six pack of craft beer or Fitz’s Soda.
Register by November 1 for a discount on your entry fee. Proceeds help benefit Lift for Life Academy, St. Louis’ first charter school serving city children.
Join us October 4 at Peace Park in Columbia for the Susan G. Komen Mid-Missouri Race for the Cure®. The mid-Missouri race is part of the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
The Komen Race for the Cure is designed and implemented to promote positive awareness, education and early detection of breast cancer. The Komen Race for the Cure is an opportunity for thousands of women, men and their families, running or walking, to spread the breast cancer message within their communities.
Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds from the race stay in Mid-Missouri for local breast health screening, treatment and education and the other 25 percent going toward national research grants. Not a runner? Not a problem! You can participate by walking our 5K or 1 mile fun course or sleeping in for the cure.
