If chocolate is your thing, you do not want to miss this event. The theme for this year's festival is "Berried in Chocolate." The festival is held in the National Guard Armory Building.
The festival begins at noon; the auction begins at 1 p.m. Contestants bring their favorite chocolate creation for judging, tasting and the auction.
Additional items for the auction are donated by individuals and local businesses. Proceeds benefit the Christos House, a women's and children's shelter in West Plains.
Admission is free; 'tasting tickets' are ten for $5.
The 3rd Annual West Plains BrewFest, held at the West Plains Civic Center, is a great way to sample some of the best Missouri and nationally known craft beers while donating to local arts exhibits, performances, workshops, and an arts scholarship for a local student of fine art.
Admission is $25 at the door, cash only. Advance tickets are $20, available at West Plains Civic Center. No one under 21 will be admitted; must have valid photo ID.
First 250 attendees get a souvenir tasting glass.
