If chocolate is your thing, you do not want to miss this event. The theme for this year's festival is "Berried in Chocolate." The festival is held in the National Guard Armory Building.
The festival begins at noon; the auction begins at 1 p.m. Contestants bring their favorite chocolate creation for judging, tasting and the auction.
Additional items for the auction are donated by individuals and local businesses. Proceeds benefit the Christos House, a women's and children's shelter in West Plains.
Admission is free; 'tasting tickets' are ten for $5.
Celebrate Mardi Gras at the Lake's biggest winter event. More than 20 bars and restaurants around the Lake of the Ozarks participate in the huge event.
A $10 wristband gets you access to ride the buses, as well as entry in to all participating locations – including pick up and drop off to sponsoring hotels. Scan our website for details, locations and wristband information.

This six-course dinner is based on the book, Christmas with Dickens, by Cedric Dickens. It is an evening of bygone revelry centered on a period 1870s English Christmas dinner and readings from A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens.
Guests are encouraged to join in singing carols and playing games that are included in Dickens' writings. Guests who would like to don period attire for the evening are welcome to do so. $60/person Reservations necessary: 660-837-3200 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In its third season, the Missouri Barn Dinner series brings one-of-a-kind dining experiences to Powell Gardens. Guests enjoy multi-course dinners with garden-fresh ingredients and drinks in a relaxed setting in the Gardens’ open-air Missouri Barn.

Come early and enjoy the Fall Festival for all ages (opens at 9 a.m.). Free crafts and games for the children. There is a scarecrow contest, craft and food vendors, and music.
Learn, hands-on, the German tradition of summer sausage making at Hermann Wurst Haus. Join two-time hall of famer Wurstmeister Mike Sloan for this VIP event that's both informative and entertaining.
Mike will show you the ropes of summer sausage making and cover topics such as, cold smoked vs. hot smoked, natural fermentation vs. artificial fermentation, natural casings vs. collagen casings and much more.
Class is by reservation only, will begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will last approximately 2-2.5 hours. Tickets are $49 per person and include a beer and bratwurst tasting, 2 pounds of sausage that you make and a Wurst Haus goody bag. Participants receive 10% discount on in store purchases that day.
