Trice-Dedman Memorial Woods, owned by the Nature Conservancy and cared for by park staff, is one of the best examples of pre-settlement forests in Missouri. The 60-acre site is located 2.5 miles east of Plattsburg. Walking trails only. Parking available across the highway.

This 2.7-mile sidewalk trail was Harry S Truman's favorite route in Independence. The 43 plaques embedded in sidewalks along the way tell much about the man and his hometown. Brochures available at key points.

The Current River Section of the Ozark Trail begins at Peck Ranch State Conservation Area on Route 60, four miles west of Van Buren and covers about 30 miles, nine of which are within Mark Twain Forest.

Two trailheads serve 30-mile Eleven Point River Trail. The trail is popular as an equestrian trail. It's tough to cover the whole trail in one day, even on horseback so allow plenty of time. Please limit your party to no more than 10.
Cobb Ridge Recreation Area

Nearly 80 miles of ATV, motorcycle and mountain bike trails, winding in and out of deep, forested hollows and down long ridge tops. Situated about four miles southwest of Chadwick. Area contains a 12 square mile chunk of rough national forest land in Ozark country. Camping facilities close.

This 8.2-mile walking/biking trail is a spur of the Katy Trail State Park. The main trailhead is downtown, at Fourth and Cherry streets. Access points are located at 800 S. Stadium Blvd. and 2701 Forum Blvd.

The white water area of the St. Francis River, both lovely and exciting. Water cascades over a historic dam at the abandoned silver mine and 200-foot bluffs loom over the one-mile scenic hiking trail. There is a one-mile long trail along each side of the river. From Turkey Creek Picnic Area, a 1.2 mile trail to the north leads to Millstream Garden Conservation Area, managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. 66 campsites with 9 double sites and 1 is a group site, each with table, lantern post and fire ring. Some site have electrical hookups available and some sites support RV and trailers up to 40 feet in length. Drinking Water and Vault Toilets are centrally located. Two picnic areas each containing 5 picnic units, each with picnic table and grill.

Thirteen miles south of Rolla on the Little Piney River. A picnic area, pavilions, hiking trails and camping. Two trails and the creek; a Wild Trout Management area; and a shady overlook that's a favorite wedding spot.

A hiking trail, often rugged, through the Missouri Ozarks from the St. Louis metropolitan area southwestward to Arkansas, eventually connecting to the Ozark Highlands trail. Almost 350 miles of trail have been completed in Missouri.

A five-mile double loop trail for hiking, equestrian and mountain bike use. Horses are welcome on the west side from the junction of the Marble Creek Section of the Ozark Trail to the north end of the lake. A National Recreation Trail since 1980.
