The site offers 47 campsites: 12 primitive, 34 with electricity and one with electric, sewer and water. The electric campsites are closed from Nov. 15-March 15. There is a special-use camping area. There are hiking trails, picnic sites and a visitor center museum. The Santa Fe Trail crossed the Missouri River here. Landmarks include artist George Caleb Bingham's house, the 1834 Huston Tavern and a one-room jail. Located 13 miles north of I-70 on Route 41.

On Dec. 14, 2005, Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park was damaged by flooding following the failure of Taum Sauk Reservoir. The day-use area of the park has reopened. A new campground is being built and will be available soon. Check www.MoStateParks.com for the latest updates.

Sites vary from spacious hilltop settings, where one can see for miles while overlooking grazing American Bison, to cozy wooded sites overlooking an eight-acre stocked lake and restored wetlands. Enjoy the great outdoors while hiking the or riding your horse on trails.

We have 25 large sites that accommodate big rigs, eight of which are pull-through. This area is full hook-up, 50-amp service; a conversion pigtail for 30-amp service. The 16 Shag Bark Hickory sites are in a wooded area; they accommodate mini-rigs and have electric and water only.

This park offers basic and electric campsites on a first-come, first-served basis. Services include modern restrooms, showers and water. The shower house is closed Oct. 15-April 30. Firewood is available for purchase. The park contains a large Missouri Indian earthwork known as the "Old Fort." New exhibits in Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center interpret American Indians in Missouri. Outdoor recreation options include picnicking, a small fishing lake and trails. Located on Route 122, off Route 41 north of Marshall.

The park, named for a former Missouri governor, dates to the 1920s. It encompasses 5,323 acres of the St. Francois Mountains. The park is dedicated to the memory of Gen. Enoch Crowder, who founded the selective service system. It features trails, picnic sites and a lake for fishing and swimming. Campers planning to carry in firewood must comply with current firewood advisories. The use of generators is prohibited in the campground, unless approved by the park manager.
