Fish for more than 200 fish species in Missouri, including blue gill, bass, paddlefish, catfish and trout. Missouri has more than a million acres of surface waters, most of which offer great fishing. Once part of the Mother Road, Route 66, this bridge across the Mississippi River was re-opened in 1999 as one of the world's longest pedestrian-bicycle bridges. It connects Missouri’s St. Louis Riverfront Trail and the MCT Confluence Trail, in Illinois. This is a particularly scenic stretch of the Mississippi River, overlooking the natural chain of rocks, from which it derives its name.

Established in 1896, this is one of 90 State Veterans Homes in the United States. This facility includes a memorial site and soldiers memorial.

Bonnots Mill 65016

In a valley at the confluence of the Osage and Missouri Rivers. During its prime, Bonnots Mill was a hub for commerce, with riverboats and steam engines supplying the region with goods. This early French settlement now offers restaurants, a bed and breakfast, a wedding chapel and a general store.

The mansion was constructed in 1871 as the official residence of Missouri's first family. The state's first family invites you to tour their home to see its beautiful architecture and period furniture, and to learn the history of many of the state's great governors. Public, guided tours of the first floor are conducted every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Go to the tours page of the mansion's Web site to schedule a tour.

There are no weekday tours in August and December. However, in December the Mansion opens for Candlelight Tours, an event which showcases the mansion in full holiday decor. Free admission. Cameras are allowed.

Packages, including backpacks, food or beverages, including water bottles, and chewing gum are not allowed on the grounds or inside the mansion.

This is a log cabin village and museum with a visitors center and gift shop. In May 2009, the Missouri State Archives recognized this site as the only remaining complete homestead and farm from the Saxon Lutheran immigration in 1839. The site has 15 buildings you may tour, seven of which are log cabins dating to 1820. This was the Bergt homestead and farm; the family lived here for 118 years. Hands-on activities are available to help you gain an appreciation of living in the 1800s. We can accommodate large groups and bus tours; a meal can be prepared with prior arrangements. We are located 12 miles south of Perryville on Route 61; west on Route A to Forhna; then north on Route C. We are 35 miles north of Cape Girardeau. Open March thru November; a live nativity is presented in December. Free will donations accepted.
