The lights come on Thanksgiving evening for one of the Lake's longest running drive-thru Christmas displays. With 4,000 strings of lights, the Festival of Lights is a major holiday attraction. Instead of animated displays, the focus is on the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus and His Mother, Mary. See it at the shrine of St. Patrick, Route 5, in Laurie.

St. Charles

Escape to an old-fashioned Christmas with storybook characters, Victorian carolers, and Santas from around the world. There is no better place than Main Street during a Christmas Festival for a holiday stroll with your loved ones underneath a canopy of twinkling lights. Duck into a shop or two for a little holiday shopping; then take a break at one of the restaurants or wineries. If it happens to snow – even better.
